The New Mexico Athletic Commission licenses professional wrestlers alongside boxers and MMA fighters, and it is the single largest licence category in the state — more than pro boxers and pro MMA fighters combined. Almost nobody covers it.

This is pro wrestling, not amateur or scholastic wrestling. It is a worked sport. There are no records here and no results, because results are not what wrestling is. What there is: a touring circuit that plays Gallup, Farmington, Clovis, Deming and Alamogordo, two national promotions that brought television tapings to Albuquerque and Rio Rancho this year, and a local scene nobody has written down.
